John Legend is back with a reimagined version of his last album, LegendLegend (Solo Piano Version) features stripped-down versions of a few songs from the 2022 album, as well as covers of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and Sade’s “By Your Side.”

“The album was a lot of fun to put together,” Legend tells People of his new album. “I’d already written the songs so it was fun to reimagine them and think of new ways of presenting them. I’d never done a full album like this since I got signed.”

Among the reimagined songs is John’s favorite, “Honey,” a song about the “stuff that grown-ups do.” He also recreated “Wonder Woman,” which means more to him following the birth of his and wife Chrissy Teigen‘s youngest child, daughter Esti Maxine.

He explains, “Just having made it while my wife was pregnant and seeing the miracle of childbirth and all that women have to go through to bring life into the world makes that song especially meaningful to me.”

Legend (Solo Piano Version) comes out ahead of John’s two solo shows at LA’s Walt Disney Concert, intended to celebrate the project’s release. The shows are set for February 13 and 14.
