As promised, Lil Wayne delivered his surprise announcement Thursday, revealing the release date for his album, Tha Carter VI.

In a Super Bowl ad for Cetaphil, which caters to sensitive skin, he’s captured as he provides the product to help save people from “sensitive situations,” including a man who’s left “high and dry” to foot the bill after a night out with friends. “We’re all a little sensitive,” he says at some point, poking fun at his disappointment about not being chosen to perform this year’s halftime show in his native New Orleans.

Toward the end, when asked if he was attending the Super Bowl, Wayne says, “Nah, this is time sensitive,” as he stands behind the mic in a studio. The door then closes and reveals a sign that reads, “Do Not Disturb ‘Til 06-06-25 Carter VI.” The date “6/6/25” also appears on jerseys and scoreboards throughout the clip.

Wayne’s label Young Money later confirmed the release date on its Instagram account, sharing the ad alongside the caption, “We all get a little sensitive but @liltunechi and @cetaphil got you covered! The [goat emoji] is on DND until 6/6/25! #C6”

Tha Carter VI will arrive seven years after the last installment of the series, Tha Carter V.
