Ciara is looking for dancers interested in participating in her dance competition, Ciara Presents: Dance Icon. Registration for the contest is now open to aspiring performers ages 13 and up.
The competition seeks to give eight dancers an opportunity to flex their dance moves in front of judges Ciara and longtime collaborator/choreographer Jamaica Craft. The champion will be announced at an event in Phoenix, Arizona. The winner will receive a $20,000 grand prize, as well as a spot in Ciara’s upcoming music video.
Ciara Presents: Dance Icon is a partnership between Colossal and the Why Not You Foundation, which the competition helps to support. Founded by Ciara’s husband, Russell Wilson, Why Not You is a “nonprofit dedicated to education, children’s health and fighting poverty, empowering today’s youth to lead with a why not you attitude,” its website says.
“Dance Icon is an incredible opportunity for all types of dancers to showcase their talent and support a meaningful cause through the Why Not You Foundation,” said Mary Hagen, CEO of Colossal. “We’re thrilled to partner with Ciara to give participants a platform to take their passion to the next level.”
